What we can usually encounter

South Africa is one of the best destinations worldwide for watching marine mammals. Whether from land, boat or air, Hermanus showcases spectacular annual visits from Southern Right and Humpback whales and enormous pods of dolphins and Bryde’s whales year-round.

While we try and focus the tour on searching and spending time with the whales, the tour can include sightings of seals, dolphins and a variety of marine birds including the African penguin.
